( Pre- Chanukah) AACI's Thanksgiving Tour to Merom Golan

Merom Golan Volcano Kibbutz Resort is located at the base of Mount Bental, rising up to 1,171 meters above the sea-level, in the crater of the volcano erupted very long time ago. Besides the beautiful nature of the place and very pleasant and comfortable design of the resort, there are amazing sculptures all around kibbutz and on the path to Bental mountaintop, created by Dutch/ Israeli artist Joop De Joung.

There are many places in Golan Heights at the vicinity of the Kibbutz with rich history and beautiful landscape. We visited few of them:

Mt. Bental and Tel Saki - sites of courageous battles fought during Israel's wars, with amazing stories and great panoramic scenery view.

--------------------------------

Ein Keshatot -  an archaeological site where remnants of a Jewish village were discovered, with  the Spring of the Arches and the unique 1500 year-old synagogue constructed in the 6th century CE, one of the biggest among 30 ancient synagogues discovered in the Golan Heights
A powerful earthquake in 749 CE destroyed the building, as well as the entire village, which was never rebuilt until recent times, when the stone-by-stone new technology reconstruction started. The beautiful nature of the site is complete with breathtaking cliff-top view towards the Samekh Riverbed and Lake Kinneret.
